THE BRIDGE

There’s a chasm down there
Far below this bridge
I know that I must cross it
Prove I can commit

Can’t you hear me screaming
Echoes off the moon
Though danger it is present
I sacrifice for you

It’s like an old rope bridge
With half the planks decayed
And making it across
Depends on how it sways

Sometimes I close my eyes
Afraid if I look down
I risk the chance of falling
And my heart begins to pound

~~~*Chorus*~~~
The chasm at the bottom
Has arms stretched open wide
I clutch the rope…grasp for hope
To reach the other side
Knowing that the reason, why I live...
Is across the bridge
~~*~~
I can't find you
I won’t give up
Whispers taunt me
Did I try hard enough
Are you hiding
Scared and lost
Do you think about me
The pain I've caused
Revive my rainbow
It’s cold and black
Dry flooding waters
Tears not held back
Do you feel me on the bridge
Terrified to cross
Knowing I will risk it
To reclaim what’s lost
~~~*Lyrical Bridge*~~~
Yeah, It feels just like an old rope bridge
With half the planks decayed
And making it across the thing
Depends on how it sways
So here I go,  I close my eyes
I'm not looking down
Won't be falling off this thing
Go ahead, heart pound
To hold the only reason why I live....
Gotta cross this bridge
~~*~~

~~~*Chorus*~~~
The chasm at the bottom
Has arms stretched open wide
I clutch the rope…grasp for hope
To reach the other side
Knowing that the reason, why I live...
Is across the bridge
~~*~~
~~~*Finale*~~~
I can hear the chasm
A deep bitter laugh
With greed it swallows
My only passage back
The sun is seeking
The shelter of the ridge
Darkness can’t defeat me
I have crossed the bridge
~~*~~
