DESIRE

I woke this morning
To the Malabar’s call
Felt sorrow rising
Turned to face the wall

Tried to find the dream
That I was laughing in
When you were still mine
And not in love with him

~~~*Chorus*~~~
How do I come back
From this kind of pain
How do I fight it
Learn to live again
Tell me how to trust
I believed a lie
I can justify
The desire to die
~~*~~
A cool breeze touched me
On my way to work
I stumbled slightly
Shuddered from the hurt
Yes, I have lost her
My own damned tragedy
Bitter anguish, deeply
Has overtaken me
~~~~~~Musical Bridge~~~~~~

The sunset tonight
Could rival a Monet
Alone in my room
On my knees to pray

And I asked Him how
Did this all come to be
Why strive for a life
Of no value to me
And...

~~~*Chorus*~~~
How do I come back
From this kind of pain
How do I fight it
Learn to live again
Tell me how to trust
I believed a lie
I can justify
The desire to die
~~*~~
Once again remorse
Clearly not the same
Chastised for greed
Craving in His name
She was but a trinket
My true gift unwrapped
Waiting for this moment
Letting go the past
~~~*Final Chorus*~~~
With Faith I am back
From anguish and pain
With hope I overcame it
Alive once again
God has never lied to me
I can trust in Him
I am justified
With desire to live
~~*~~
