MONTANA

I made a move to Washington
Back when I was young and dumb
Into the desert where I thought I’d die
Fought and screamed, cussed and cried

There was nothing else that I could do
I'm a family girl through and through
My Brothers work out at the site
And I’m good friends with both their wives

My Sister also settled here
No mountains, trees, just desert air
I never thought I’d leave their kids
I can’t believe I finally did

~~~*Chorus*~~~
Washington into Idaho
Idaho into finally home
Screaming I was lost now I’m found
Yes sir I’m Montana bound
I want to breath the mountain air
Feel it blowing through my hair
See the view up on the pass
Watch the Grizzlies kick some a**
Once I’m back I’ll never part
Got Montana in my heart
~~*~~
Stopped by work on Friday night
Was out of Washington by nine
Final check, and tips in hand
Car is packed with all I have
Been saving up for ten long years
Finally, finally out of here
I won’t get no sleep tonight
Until I've crossed that treasure line
Washington into Idaho
Idaho into finally home
~~~*Lyrical Bridge*~~~
I don't need nothing but the feel of Montana
To bring this body back to earth
The sight, the smells, the familiar touch
That's been a part of me since birth..
~~*~~

~~~*Chorus*~~~
Washington into Idaho
Idaho into finally home
Screaming I was lost now I’m found
Yes sir I’m Montana bound
I want to breath the mountain air
Feel it blowing through my hair
See the view up on the pass
Watch the Grizzlies kick some a**
Once I’m back I’ll never part
Got Montana in my heart
~~*~~
~~~*Finale*~~~
Just need God's blessing, and some luck
An old log cabin, and a Chevy truck
Wood for heat, and a job for food
Once I’m set, I’ll never move
It won’t take long to make some friends
Just be honest and settle in
I’m so happy I could cry
Under this Montana sky
Can’t believe I’m finally home
Just had to say goodbye and go…
~~*~~
