PEOPLE WATCHING

I was people watching in the park one day
I heard a conversation just a bench away
Made my heart feel bruised, I shook my head
You don’t hear, these days, the words the young man said

"Shouldn't have to prove how much I love you girl
You’re my only drop of sweetness in this bitter world
Oh I want to show you yes, I know it’s odd
I just want to do it right in the eyes of God."

~~~*Chorus*~~~
I don't sit around and stare at my TV
Do sensationalism in a magazine
Take a look at the world, the sick reality
Let depression drag me down to my knees
If I yearn for something pure,
Honest, and sweet
I go people watching
You should come with me
~~*~~
I went people watching in the mall last night
Put a couple, by the fountain, in my line of sight
They were dressed to the nines, a little out of place
He had devastation written on his face
I heard him say, "Without you I can't go on.
She said I'll miss you too, but it's up to God
Don't give in to this world full of lies and hate
Be a Soldier for the Lord, I'll meet you at the gates."
~~~*Lyrical Bridge*~~~
Sometimes they make me giggle,
Leave me feeling awed
Sometimes I'm crying with them
As we pray to God
When I sit at home alone
I feel a kindred need
To be a part of something
People call to me
~~*~~

~~~*Chorus*~~~
I don't sit around and stare at my TV
Do sensationalism in a magazine
Take a look at the world, the sick reality
Let depression drag me down to my knees
If I yearn for something pure,
Honest, and sweet
I go people watching
You should come with me
~~*~~
~~~*Finale*~~~
I Pray for the young, old, and families
Their pain and laughter is important you see
I hope I make someone smile
Maybe stop and think
If there's ever someone out
People watching me
~~*~~
