JUST A DREAM

Let the rain disguise my tears
The thunder mask the screams
I didn't need him anyway
He    was    just    a    dream

Winds tantalize my fingers
As they reach up for the sky
Release to it the reasons
I believed I had to cry
~~*~~
Now watch the sunrise
~~*~~

~~~*Chorus*~~~
The scarlet red's the blood I shed
But it won't last too long
When the sun is high
Up in that sky
It means that I've moved on
I am free
So free...
He was just a dream
~~*~~
White clouds gently drifting
Beckon to my weary being
A deceptive illusion
Like his claims of love for me
Clouds can't hold my body
Release made me see
Their mist is not substantial
Like him, they're just a dream
~~~*Lyrical Bridge*~~~
Just a dream that I was living
Chasing every promise spoke
Stepped outside and called the forces
Raised my hands and let them go
Now it's time...
To watch the sunrise
~~*~~

~~~*Chorus*~~~
The scarlet red's the blood I shed
But it won't last too long
When the sun is high
Up in that sky
It means that I've moved on
I am free
So free...
He was just a dream
~~*~~
Ooh...
~~ Just a dream~~
KNOCK ON ANOTHER'S DOOR
I don't sit around, playing house
When life is happening right outside
And if you don't want to join me
I will not hang on you and cry
I won't call you every minute
 I don't need you  checking in
I'm your lover, not your Mother
Don't have to tell me where you've been
~~~*Chorus*~~~
I am not a fool for love
The mushy touchy feely thing that girls speak of
I'm not the kind of woman to lose my head
Think we can solve a problem
 with some time in bed
So if that's what you're looking for...
Knock on another's door
~~*~~

You do not have to share your past
Unless it pertains to me
For every detail left behind
Is right where it should be

But I must know I can trust you
No, deceit won't be ignored
Think about it, and if I can't
Knock on another's door

~~~*Lyrical Bridge*~~~
I don't play games like a little girl
You won't be the center of my whole word
I will respect you, yeah I'll treat you right
You'll know that you're loved each and every night
Now,  if you need something more...
Knock on another's door
~~*~~
~~~*Chorus*~~~
I am not a fool for love
The mushy touchy feely thing that girls speak of
I'm not the kind of woman to lose my head
Think we can solve a problem
 with some time in bed
So if that's what you're looking for...
Knock on another's door
~~*~~

IF I COULD

I keep hearing that it will get better
That it is always darkest with the night
Come the dawn, everything looks brighter
My will to live shall rally for the fight
You're telling me I am not alone here
There's always someone I just have to look
Don't you know that I've become too weary
I'd have already done so if I could

~~~*Chorus*~~~
If I could...
I would see the best of what is here
If I could
I wouldn't be lonely, so damned strangled
By my fears
I know I should..
I should see the beauty, please believe me
I would...
I would if I could
~~*~~
When you tell me I am being selfish
Not to say that I'm leaving you again
I know that you Love me and you'll miss me
But even that can't measure with this pain
You say that you don't understand me
I can't explain when I am just as blind
All I know is that to end this misery
I've got to go and leave this life behind
~~~*Lyrical Bridge*~~~
If I could wave a magic wand
Clean out the depths of me
I'd blow apart the desperation
And I'd set the laughter free
Right now everything that's wonderful and good...
Has escaped me
And  I would bring it back if I could
Oh...If I could
~~*~~

~~~*Chorus*~~~
If I could...
I would see the best of what is here
If I could
I wouldn't be lonely, so damned strangled
 By my fears
I know I should..
I should see the beauty, please believe me
I would...
I would if  I could
~~*~~
