SEPTEMBER 11, 2001

I am sitting here all safe at home
While our Troops are overseas
Looking at pictures on the internet
Of where our towers used to be

Now there are twin beams of light
A tribute to the tragedy
Marble at the Pentagon
And in a field for flight 93

A Heroes funeral for the fallen
Who've died so far from home
And I am hurting, sitting here
Praying that the Families know

You survivors know
My Heart breaks for you
These are honest tears
Shed with all that's happened
For the past eighteen years 
I'm sending Love and Prayers to you
Every Family that's forever broken

Sending Love in the only way
Possible for this person

I remember that day...Oh, I remember
Never took my blurry eyes off of the screen
I could hear people's voices sick with horror
Report the terror through the dust and screams

And I prayed "OH GOD, I BEG YOU, PLEASE BE WITH
THEM!
SURROUND THEIR HEARTS, DON'T LET THEM FEEL
ALONE!"
And I couldn't help myself from feeling guilty
While these lives were being altered ...I was home

I knew our Country would advance upon the wicked
Yes, I knew that shattered lives would be the cost
But I have cheered them on from the beginning
Then stormed the gates of Heaven for the loss

Either flying high, or I'm ripping up the ground...
Prayers, and my love for God and Country...
Are the only sense of peace that I have found...
