I'M DIVING IN THE WATER

I stripped everything…dove into the water
Left my troubles piled on the shore
I felt the cleansing river overtake me
Wash the shame away and leave me whole

I kicked hard to get away from your memory
It took all the strength that I had left
I'd rather be exhausted treading water
Than to walk on land that you possess

~~~*Chorus*~~~
I was born
In just this way
Not clothed in your abusive hate
I can swim
All by myself
You be an anchor for someone else
Not going any farther
I’m diving in the water
~~*~~
Elated now, I've never felt such a feeling
Swimming unbound is such ecstasy
I’m moving with the hope that is inside me
Being swept out to the open sea
I’ll just drift along without any worries
With no hurry of a distant shore
Won’t need the clothes I left up river
They don’t look good on me anymore
~~~*Chorus*~~~
I was born
In just this way
Not clothed in your abusive hate
I can swim
All by myself
You be an anchor for someone else
Not going any farther
I’m diving in the water
~~*~~

I can swim
All by myself
You be an anchor
For someone else
I am in the water
Kicking even harder

~~~*Chorus*~~~
I was born
In just this way
Not clothed in your abusive hate
I can swim
All by myself
You be an anchor for someone else
Not going any farther
I’m diving in the water
~~*~~
