PRINCESS OF THE DUNES

She dressed up like a Princess
In flowing silks and crown
Put on every jewel she owned
Silver sandals she had found
Commanded the winds on high
To cover up her tracks
Walked into the desert with no
Plans on coming back

~~~*Chorus*~~~
She hailed herself to be
Princess of the dunes
The wind, her admirers
Whom she blew kisses to
Visions of the worship
Devoted masses bowed
She would throw her jewels for the
Children in the crowd
~~*~~
Dancing with the phantoms
A mirage of swaying hands
Blindly going forward
Eyes closed against the sand
In her mind she heard them sing
Moved to their haunting tunes
Silk clinging to her body the
Princess of the dunes
~~~*Lyrical Bridge*~~~
They found her in the desert
Lying in the sand
Dressed in yards of silk
Old jewelry in her hands
Seems that she'd been smiling
Even though her reign was through
Died with her loyal subjects the
Princess of the dunes
~~*~~

~~~*Chorus*~~~
She hailed herself to be
Princess of the dunes
The wind, her admirers
Whom she blew kisses to
Visions of the worship
Devoted masses bowed
She would throw her jewels for the
Children in the crowd
~~*~~
~~*Finale*~~
Seems that she'd been smiling
Even though her reign was through
Died with her loyal subjects the
Princess of the dunes
~~*~~
