OUT OF THE CITY

I'm forty miles out of the city
Driving fast as I can go
I see acres of crops, a couple farmers
And an endless stretch of open road

A bunch of kids, in an old blue truck
Man did I ever drive that slow
Gotta hit the mountains before the sun
Has a chance to sink too low

~~~*Chorus*~~~
Cause I wanna see...
The rivers and the trees...
Smell the heated scent of pine
Set nostalgic memories
Free to run in my mind
Skipping back in time
When home was pretty
Out of the city
~~*~~
I'm a hundred and forty out of the city
Spokane is coming into view
I honk and pass, heart beating fast
Man, clear a path I'm coming through
~~~*Lyrical Bridge*~~~
Yeah, there are the trees
I roll the window down just to breathe
Oh, the air's so clean...
Mountains perfect and pretty
A bright blue sky
I feel so alive
Out of the city
~~*~~

~~~*2nd Chorus*~~~
Yeah, I had to see...
The rivers and the trees...
Smell the heated scent of pine
Set nostalgic memories
Free to run in my mind
Compare time with time
It's still so pretty
Out of the city
~~*~~
