A MAN OF MEANS

The small dive that we live in
Isn't quaint, it isn't sweet
The water pipes are rusty
And sometimes there is no heat
The wedding band he gave me
Always turns my finger green
My Friends can’t see
They beg me please
Girl, find a man of means

~~~*Chorus*~~~
But oh… he loves me
Like no other could
Doesn't matter when you see the man
He is always looking good
Some guys have bad tempers
Their hearts pumping with cold
His is a volcano
Erupting liquid gold
Always out to please...
Everything to me...
 A man of means
~~*~~
He fixes our old car up
Every time that it breaks down
Pays all of our bills on time
Though, I swear, I don’t know how
He’s never missed a day of work
Down at the factory
So girls, you tell me
What is a man of means
~~~*Lyrical Bridge*~~~
Because to me…
It's a shoulder I can lean on
A hand that I can hold
No games or little secrets
Believing him for what is told
Raw attraction and satisfaction
Yeah, he’s got everything
I don’t need a millionaire
When I've got a man of means
~~*~~

~~~*Chorus*~~~
Oh yeah… he loves me
Like no other could
Doesn't matter when you see the man
He is always looking good
Some guys have bad tempers
Their hearts pumping with cold
His is a volcano
Erupting liquid gold
Always out to please
Everything to me
A man of means
~~*~~
~*Finale*~
Keep your mansion, spoiled kids
Competition, rotten things you've hid
Servants, jewelry, all the frills
Therapy, the booze and pills
Yeah, all the phony things
You think you need
Live your lies, deceit
All high on greed
I've got the only thing
I’ll ever need
A man of means…
~~*~~
