RISE

A photograph of a striking couple
Captured in their youth
Faded flowers, on the papered walls,
In her sitting room

Awards and treasures covering the top
Of her antique buffet
But not a soul to love and care for
As her life’s slipping away

She was revered and sought after
To light up the silver screen
She was noted for her beauty
Perfection brought to her scenes

All young men dreamed of holding her
Kissing those exquisite lips
How could such a cherished prize
End up all alone like this

 ~~~*Chorus*~~~
When the beauty fades…
Away…
And the demand for you is gone
When the only ones who loved you
Have long ago passed on
When everything, surrounding you, in life
Has lost it’s shine
Rise…
Find a light
~~*~~
A lonely boy lives just blocks away
And his Mom’s gone all the time
The young girl on the corner
Looks for any love that she can find
There are homeless families everywhere
They have no place to go
You’re in a house with empty rooms
Full of treasures all alone
~~~*Lyrical Bridge*~~~
No one has to be alone, unless they desire to be
What kind of life is solitude
Sounds desolate to me
You can sit around, with your pretty things
Filled with mistrust and doubt
Waste away all by yourself
While you keep the world locked out
Or you can rise…
And find a light…
Do something for someone else
Welcome them into your life
Rise…
Lift up a soul, who’s suffering, somehow
And you’ll have friends to dance with
Until the curtain’s lowered down
To have a life...
You just have to
~~~*RISE*~~~
~~~*Chorus*~~~
When the beauty fades…
Away…
And the demand for you is gone
When the only ones who loved you
Have long ago passed on
When everything surrounding you  in life
Has lost it’s shine
Rise…
Find a light

RISE
