TO THE END OF ME

It was just another day
I was headed home from work
So tired of feeling my body hurt

But it really didn't matter
To any one but me
 I still had two mouths to feed

I was rolling to a stop
At the end of Adams road
When a man jumped in my car
And yelled let's go

I cried, I have two children
I don't want to die
He lowered the gun
And told me just to drive

I stared straight ahead
Tears flowed as I passed home
Wondered how long my kids
Would have to be alone

Did I tell them enough
How much they mean to me
Did I help them learn to stand
On their own  two feet

Will they remember my voice
Will my face find their dreams
While I am driving to the end of me

~~~*Chorus*~~~
The end of me
My final trip
Did the words they needed
Ever pass these lips
Did these arms reach out
Hold them close enough
Did they understand
The depth of my Love
Who will be there
When the water's deep
While I'm driving
To the end of me
~~*~~
We didn't talk to each other
As I drove through the night
He said you can drop me off
When we get to the next light
My blood started racing
The car running out of gas
He jumped out at a stop sign
And never did look back
I stumbled to a payphone
And dialed the police
I can't believe I didn't drive
To the end of me
My Kids came running out
When we pulled in the drive
They were scared when I didn't
Come home last night
I pulled them close
Whispered hold me please
This is the beginning
Not the end of me
~~~*Chorus*~~~
The end of me
Was not this trip
And the words
They've needed
Will pass these lips
These arms will reach out
Hold them close enough
They will understand
The depth of my Love
I will be there
When the water's deep
Yes I'm living
To the end of me
