A GOOD MAN

It was not a simple murder
But a downright massacre
No blood was shed
No one was dead
Just the heart he'd given her
Oh...as he felt it fading
He tried to understand
Why she would kill the heart
Of a good man

~~~*Chorus*~~~
Reliable and honest
Worthy of great love
He sculpted her, a pedestal
She drug him through the mud
Took his faith, in the human race
Right out of his hands
When she massacred the heart
Of a good man
~~*~~
When a warm heart has been slain
Betrayed, and left for dead
They have been known
to turn ice cold
Then revive to seek revenge
But some do not recover
They perish with their plans
And we all mourn the loss
Of a good man
~~~*Lyrical Bridge*~~~
A Good Man
Compassionate and faithful
The threads one golden strand
By her side, with every tear she cried
No way to understand
How she could be so ruthless
slay the noble rock she had
You can take my word, she did not deserve
A Good Man
~~*~~

~~~*Chorus*~~~
Reliable and honest
Worthy of great love
He sculpted her, a pedestal
She drug him through the mud
Took his faith in the human race
Right out of his hands
When she massacred the heart
Of a good man
~~*~~
Oh...we all mourn the loss
Of a Good Man
~~*~~
