COMPASSION'S ROAD

I was lost in this city of concrete and steel
Always feeling like a frightened fool
Thinking that escape was my only hope
Until the fates delivered you

I was utterly affected by your pure view
Liberal innocence, and fire for life
Drug from the boundaries of my cage
You shed light by altering the night

~~~*Chorus*~~~
Are you supernatural
A vision of my fear
Some kind of sterling token
Offered up to keep me here
Every terror vanished
As fast as you appeared
Now this city summons me
Triumphant of my fears
With you I know
I know...
Compassion's road
~~*~~
Every creature of the darkness knew who you were
If they didn't, you made sure they would
Embracing them all like long lost friends
Desperate homeless and dejected thugs
The broken concrete was a yellow brick road
The graffiti was a work of art
The derelicts were forgotten children
And the corrupt were just fractured hearts
~~~*Lyrical Bridge*~~~
You transposed the wicked dark unknown
Took a skeptic out into the night
Introduced me to compassion's road
And sparked affection for the city life...
~~*~~

~~~*Chorus*~~~
Are you supernatural
A vision of my fear
Some kind of sterling token
Offered up to keep me here
Every terror vanished
As fast as you appeared
Now this city summons me
Triumphant of my fears
With you I know
I know...
Compassion's road
~~*~~
I can't leave....
Now I know....
Compassion's road
~~*~~
