MONDAYS WERE THE BLUES

Mama liked Skynyrd and the Rolling Stones
She'd play their records so we could dance
Daddy came home and pulled out his guitar
Our nights ended with some Johnny Cash
Grew up with the Eagles and Charlie Pride
Mixing up the artists and their tunes
Come Monday
Every Monday
Mondays were the blues

~~~*Chorus*~~~
Elmore James
T-bone Walker
Janis Joplin, B.B.King
John Lee Hooker
 Otis Redding
And Billie Holiday...
Mondays were cool
Never suffered through
Mondays
Cause Mondays were the blues
~~*~~
Family never fought for the radio
Every station offered something fine
We all sang along with most anything
Loved the music eating up the miles
~~~*Lyrical Bridge*~~~
We mourned a loss
Like they were our best friends
Though their music would keep shining through
It broke our hearts
We realized the cost
They would never create something new
Thank God for Mondays
Oh, Mondays were the blues
~~*~~

~~~*Chorus*~~~
Elmore James
T-bone Walker
Janis Joplin, B.B.King
John Lee Hooker
Muddy Waters
And Billie Holiday...
Mondays were cool
Never suffered through
Mondays
Cause Mondays were the blues
~~*~~
