I LOVE BASEBALL

I was just a little kid
Another dreamer on the grid
Aiming for that lucky star...

Playing in the major leagues
Striking out opposing teams
Wrigley Field and Fenway park

While my friends were chasing dates
I was locking up my fate
Ready for an agent's call...

They were after second base
My whole world was the game
They'll never know a love like
Baseball

~~~*Chorus*~~~
There is no one else around
Through my fingers sacred ground
Fades the hammer of the crowd
Just me on the pitcher's mound
Dig my cleats into the dirt
Throw for all that I am worth
Slams into the catcher's mitt
The dust clears without a hit
I love it all...
I love baseball
~~*~~
Flowing through my blood from birth
Diamonds carved into the earth
Reverence some don't understand...
Yeah, the stadium of fans
The sound cracking of the bat
This ball I'm holding in my hand
I love it all...
I love baseball
~~~*Chorus*~~~
There is no one else around
Through my fingers sacred ground
Fades the hammer of the crowd
Just me on the pitcher's mound
Dig my cleats into the dirt
Throw for all that I am worth
Slams into the catcher's mitt
The dust clears without a hit
I love it all...
I love baseball
~~*~~
