I CAN'T FIND YOU

I can't find you
Baby, where can you be
I keep looking
Everybody's helping me

Time is crawling
I'm not breathing right
Someone slapped me
God, was that me who cried

You said you'd meet me
I waited half-way
Getting worried
As blackness ate the day

I walked further
Knocked on your door
Your Mom looked puzzled
Asked, what'd you do that for

And she looked past me
Shoved me aside
Asked, where's my baby
I was scared, but didn't lie

~~~*Chorus*~~~
I can't find her
She has disappeared
I've been looking for her
Thought I might find her here
She didn't answer
I kept trying to call
This isn't like her
Not like her at all
~*~
Your Mom kept talking
But nothing came through
Or I just missed it
Cause I can't find you
~~*~~
The cop said buddy
You need to get some sleep
And I panicked
God, what does that mean
The sun is rising
I just don't understand
I must be dying
Cause something hurts so bad
I looked at him
At least I think I did
And I whispered
Or maybe shouted this...
~~~*2nd Chorus*~~~
I can't find her
She has disappeared
I've been looking for her
Thought I might find her here
She didn't answer
I kept trying to call
This isn't like her
Not like her at all
~*~
The cop kept talking
But nothing came through
Or I just missed it
Cause I can't find you
~~*~~

He said I'll drive you
I said I'm walking home
Baby I called you
That's when I heard your phone

In the distance
Somewhere in the grass
They all came running
And someone held me back

God,  they confirmed it
Right there in front of me
Baby we found you...
Was that me who screamed...

~~~*Finale*~~~
I can't find you
You have disappeared
I've been looking for you
I need you to be here
I can't find you
 I'll keep trying to call
Cause I can't find you
I can't find you at all...
THE BRIDGE OF STONE
His family called it ritual
When dinner time was done
He would row their old boat
Up-river towards the sun
They never questioned him
As they prepared for bed
He needed the freedom
They believed every word he said
~~~*Music*~~~

As the sun was going down
She kissed her Ma and Pa
Took her shawl, from the hook
And began her nightly walk

Wandered to the bridge of stone
In the silence, closed her eyes
Waiting for his presence to
Invade the peace of night

~~~*Chorus*~~~
And he always came...
Her heart would overflow
When shadows turned...
Into her lover's form
Oh...oh...oh...
On the bridge of stone
His smile chased away the evening's gloom...
And her laughter lit the moon
Oh...oh...oh...
On the bridge of stone
Two separate hearts
Became one
On the bridge
On the bridge of stone
~~*~~
They both needed each other
Like you must breathe to live
And they went undiscovered
The young lovers on the bridge
~~~*Music*~~

Her Pa said the mine was closed
That there was nothing left
They were leaving at first light
Joining wagons headed West

She stumbled from the cabin
Tears rendering her blind
Sorrow posed a question
Could she leave her heart behind

~~~*Chorus*~~~
And he always came...
Her heart would overflow
When shadows turned...
Into her lover's form
Oh...oh...oh...
On the bridge of stone
His smile chased away the evening's gloom
And her laughter lit the moon
Oh...oh...oh...
On the bridge of stone
Two separate hearts
Became one
On the bridge
On the bridge of stone
~~*~~
There weren't any options
For them to grab and hold
They made love for the last time
On the bridge of stone
~~~*Lyrical Bridge*~~~
He said God will understand...
He'll forgive us for our sins
Looked into her eyes so blue
Cursed the color of his skin
He held his only treasure
And whispered let's go home
They left this world together
Falling from the bridge of stone..
~~*~~

~~~*Chorus*~~~
And he always came...
Her heart would overflow
When shadows turned...
Into her lover's form
Oh...oh...oh...
On the bridge of stone
His smile chased away the evening's gloom
And her laughter lit the moon
Oh...oh...oh...
On the bridge of stone
Two separate hearts
Became one
On the bridge
On the bridge of stone
~~*~~
~~~*Finale*~~~
Two separate hearts
Became one
On the bridge
On the bridge of stone
~~*~~

I SAY ...MAKE THEM PAY

I'm losing faith in humanity
Crying so hard that I can't see
Another poor child found in a ditch
I just don't think I can handle this

Millions of people in the USA
Over 2,000 children taken every day
Why aren't these kids on every magazine
Faces covering the TV screen

It's time to dispose of the worthless dregs
Find the only hope for a better way
Fools are setting these monsters free
To prey on our children as they please
I SAY...

Bring back the good old days
Chain them up and make them slave
Shoot them like the animals they became
If they even try to get away
Let them beat each other into the ground
Screw the bleeding hearts freaking out
Take away every human right
They're nothing but a waste of life
I SAY...
MAKE THEM PAY!

You ignorant people who defend this filth
Knowing they do it of their own free will
I think you should be forced to view every child
Who's been murdered, tortured, or defiled
When you let another sex offender go
To abuse again, and they will you know
Go see the broken child and comfort them
Before you find another demon to defend

I SAY...
MAKE THEM PAY!

I'm so sick of the idiots screaming "That's not fair!"
They are perverted freaks, so tell me why you care
You let them cry injustice, give the right to sue
THEY TOOK A CHILD'S LIFE!!!
WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?
I SAY...

Bring back the good old days
Chain them up and make them slaves
Shoot them like the animals they became
If they even try to get away
Let them beat each other into the ground
Screw the bleeding hearts freaking out
Take away every human right
They're nothing but a waste of life
I SAY...
MAKE THEM PAY!

If you've read my song
And think it's inhumane
Go tell the child's family
Why you feel this way!!!

HEY THIEF...

I can't believe how long
I've let you steal from me
Plundering my days
Embezzling my dreams

You're like that leaf on a tree
That just will not fall off
I summon a tornado
But you keep holding on

A pebble lodged in the rocks
Unable to pry out
Blocking my path
No alternative route

~~~*Chorus*~~~
Hey
Thief
Don't steal from me
I can't afford your memory
I'm innocent
I want released
Why must I pay this penalty
Hey
Thief
Hey Thief...
Don't you steal...
Don't you steal from me
~~*~~
You have swiped everything
Everything I've got
A toy without stuffing
Is just a piece of cloth
But you won't kidnap my future
As you have my past
That kind of ransom
Is far too much to ask
You've done all the damage
I will let you do
I was never sacred
To a thief like you
~~~*Chorus*~~~
Hey
Thief
Don't steal from me
I can't afford your memory
I'm innocent
I want released
Why must I pay this penalty
Hey
Thief
Hey Thief...
Don't you steal...
Don't you steal from me
~~*~~

HEAT IT UP

(Speak intro song)

What is your thermostat set at
Don’t feel like you want to discuss that
Some tell me it’s just not hot enough
Want to know
Do you want to know
How to turn that temperature up

Yeah?   Yeah?

Well…
You set it high with a pretty dress
Sub zero for those baggy sweats
If you want it smoking like a gun
Go put that sexy nightie on

Hair in a clip or teacher’s bun
Barely brings it past the one
Pull the pins, shake it wild and free
Girl, you’ll be busting mercury

(speak this line)   What heats it up …really heats it up

~~~*Chorus*~~~
A man likes color on those lips
A little swaying of the hips
A lady in the public eye
But take him home and don’t be shy
Show him that you know your stuff
Girl that is how you heat it up
~~*~~
If the thermostat gets stuck
Suggest a long drive in his truck
Feel the burn ignite the spark
Find a private place to park
Then heat it up a little more
Show him what mother nature’s for
Now it’s reset and working good
Light a match and burn the woods
(speak this line)   What heats it up …really heats it up
~~~*Chorus*~~~
A man likes color on those lips
A little swaying of the hips
A lady in the public eye
But take him home and don’t be shy
Show him that you know your stuff
Girl that is how you heat it up
~~*~~

~~~*Finale*~~~
To keep that thermostat up high
Show him the hunger in your eyes
Remember girl, if it gets stuck
You know how to turn it up
~~*~~
SWEET MAHOGANY
My Grandpa was a farmer
And a carpenter by trade
There was not a place in Memphis
That didn't house something he'd made
He was a master craftsman
Every piece a work of art
His signature was somewhere
The letter L inside a heart
My Dad would take us to the farm
Every Fall when I was young
We stayed until school began
And the harvesting was done
I would go to Grandpa's shop
Nothing ever smelled so good
He taught me all the wonders
Of a simple piece of wood
 He said...
~~~*Chorus*~~~
This wood is like a woman
When you first fall a tree
It may be rough on the outside
The true beauty's underneath
You bring her home and love her Son
The outer layer strips away
In time you have a masterpiece
Proudly to display
Now I don't discount the Poplar or the Pine
But my Lily's sweet Mahogany
She gets prettier with time
~~*~~

Grandpa went all whimsical
That look entered his eyes
And I listened for the thousandth time
About how he'd claimed his Bride

He'd made a small cedar chest
Took it to the county fair
A young girl fell in love with it
She had daisies in her hair

He was seventeen
A hard working farmer's Son
Had her Southern heart won
By the time the day was done

Their house was full of beauty
Filled with his heirlooms
Crafted deep with love and pride
For his sweet Bride to use
 He said...

~~~*Chorus*~~~
This wood is like a woman
When you first fall a tree
It may be rough on the outside
The true beauty's underneath
You bring her home and love her son
The outer layer strips away
In time you have a masterpiece
Proudly to display
Now I don't discount the Poplar or the Pine
But my Lily's sweet Mahogany
She gets prettier with time
~~*~~
Grandma got sick last summer
Met my Parents at the farm
Went in to see my Grandma
Laying in my Grandpa's arms
She said take care of Grandpa
And the final words she spoke
He will be soft as cedar
But convince you he's an oak
I think about that mighty Oak
And his sweet Mahogany
As my fingers trace the heart
On this crib in the nursery
~~~*Chorus repeat*~~~

TO BE WITH HIM AGAIN

How many of you dream of having wings
So you can fly to the Heavens and see
Someone that meant everything to you
And for some reason they had to leave

How many of you close your eyes at night
Wet from the tears you have shed
With empty battered hearts
For the time spent apart
You just can't deal with yet

~~~*Chorus*~~~
That would be me...
It is the truth...
If there is one thing I could do...
There's no reason to pretend
I wish that I could fly
To be with him again
Amen...
~~*~~
How many of you wander the fog
Don't remember a day that's clear
Have your faith figured out
Then battle the doubt
Where you'll  be
When the end is here
How many of you have worn out your knees
Praying God will ease the grief
Knowing in your mind
There won't be a time,
Without them,
You will know relief
~~~*2nd Chorus*~~~
That would be me...
It is the truth...
If there is one thing I could do
There's no reason to pretend
I would give anything
To be with him again
Amen...
~~*~~

How many of you are walking with me
Feeling misunderstood and ignored
And nobody knows
Because it doesn't show
Our true passion for the Lord

Knowing the reason's not what it should be
But we just can't help ourselves
There's that thin and wavy line
That gets us every time
Skating the boundaries of  Hell

How many of you try to live your lives
To get back what He took away
knowing every day's a gift
That you get to live
Instead you just sit and wait

~~~*3rd Chorus*~~~
That would be me...
It is the truth...
If there is one thing I could do
There's no reason to pretend
I've got to get with God
To be with him again
Amen...
LADY AT THE WINDOW
I lost my Mother
When I was fourteen
She drank until she couldn't
But was always good to me
And my little Brother
He was only ten
Dad's hands on my shoulders
Said its time to be a man
We were waiting for the bus
When the neighbor's curtains moved
I knew that she was watching us
Didn't have much else to do
Mom had said...Be nice to her
She was always alone
Bound to a wheelchair
From childhood Polio
~~~*Chorus*~~~
She would watch us from her window
Sometimes she would wave
It gave us a sense that someone cared
As we started out our day
And she would be there waiting
When we got off the bus
The lady at the window
Watching over us
~~*~~

We went to visit her
One day when we got home
She said its very nice to meet you
Come in from the cold

Asked how we were faring
With our Dad gone on the road
Said she'd watched from the window
The day our parents brought us home

Tiny little babies
All wrapped up in blue
I watched you grow up in your front yard
You were both my greatest view

She served us little sandwiches
And poured us some sweet tea
When night began to wander in
We didn't want to leave

~~~*Chorus*~~~
She would watch us from her window
Sometimes she would wave
It gave us a sense that someone cared
As we started out our day
And she would be there waiting
When we got off the bus
The lady at the window
Watching over us
~~*~~
Dad would come and go
We went on with our lives
Went to see the lady
Whenever we had time
I got my driver's license
The day I turned sixteen
Went and asked the lady
To go for a ride with me
My Brother helped me put her
In the front seat of the car
We headed for the seashore
It really wasn't very far
She laughed like a young girl
Taken back in time
Told me that this had to be
The best day of her life
Time...claims its victims
And it was her time to leave
When the curtain didn't move one day
I knocked then used my key
She was sitting by the window
With something in her hand
A picture of the seashore
And her bottle full of sand
~~~*Final Chorus*~~~
She would watch us from her window
She would smile and wave
Made sure we knew that someone cared
As we started out our day
And she would be there waiting
Always welcomed both of us
The lady at the window
The friend we came to love

TARGET FOR YOUR FISTS

There are a lot of Guys out there
Punching holes in walls
So I got to thinking bout
A solution for you all

I know there’s no challenge
What can Sheetrock do
But I've got a guy at my place
That I’d like to lend to you

No trip to the hardware store
No cost or hidden fees
I’ll even fill your gas tank
You can beat him up for free

You don’t have to repair him
With texture, tape, and mud
Just have to wash your hands off
To keep them clear of blood

~~~*Chorus*~~~
If you have aggression
That has no place to go
You want to pound on something
I’m here to let you know
There is a solution
For a problem such as this
This cheating man of mine's
A good target for your fists
~~*~~
Now I don’t discount the ladies
That have pent up anger too
I've even thought of a solution
Here’s what I’m going to do
There’s a home wrecker’s address
Right here in my phone
I can text it to you
Even tell you when she’s home
And then I’ll take you shopping
Get your hair and nails done
Now doesn't that sound like
An afternoon of fun
~~~*2nd Chorus*~~~
If you have aggression
That has no place to go
You want to pound on something
I’m here to let you know
There is a solution
For a problem such as this
That cheap home wrecker is
A good target for your fists
~~*~~

I am sure you are all wondering
Why I placed this ad for you
When I could beat on them myself
And save a buck or two

I've never been the violent type
And I’m not inclined to run
I do, however think that they
Should pay for what they've done

And since you all seem to like it
I thought I’d get in touch
Let you do what you do best
And I’ll just sit and watch

~~~*Final Chorus*~~~
So ..
If you have aggression
That has no place to go
You want to pound on something
I’m here to let you know
There is a solution
For a problem such as this
And I’m offering up
A good target for your fists
~~*~~
RUE THIS DAY
I took the sausage from the microwave
It tasted like briquettes
I like my eggs done over-easy
Haven’t cooked them that way yet
I scraped the black off of my toast
Stupid dial must be broke
Threw it all in the sink, found my keys,
And grabbed my coat
When does it all get easier
There must be a better way
I hate to admit that she was right
When she said I’d rue the day
~~~*Chorus*~~~
She said you will rue this day
Kicking me out
I have been your slave
You’ll be sorry now
Baby…
You are going to pay
Yeah…
You will rue this day
~~*~~

Ran out of gas on the way to work
Is there a button on this tank
My truck was still in both our names
Yeah, I have her to thank

The boss turned around and sent me home
Said you can’t come in this way
You get on home, iron up those clothes
And do not forget to shave
~~*~~
When I got home I realized
That my place was looking rough
And it was smelling just as bad
Oh Man! I’ve had enough

I’m sick of doing everything
Tired of hanging out alone
So I called my ace in the hole
Said "Mom can I come home?"

~~~*Lyrical Bridge*~~~
No, I don't know, anymore, why I kicked her out
Come on Ma, I'm drowning here
Sheesh, you don't need to shout
No, she won't come home, she's good and gone
And I should feel relieved
All she ever did, was whine and cry
And blame everything on me
~~*~~
~~~*Final Chorus*~~~
She said I would rue this day
Kicking her out
Said she was my slave
I'd be sorry now
Baby…
I will find my way
Yeah…
Made it through this day
~~*~~

LOVE IS BORN

You can catch a lobster in the ocean
That’s almost too delicious to consume
Extract the oils from the petals
To make a sweet and delicate perfume

You can even direct the lightning
And utilize the power of the sun
You can do most anything you want to
The capable can do it all but one

~~~*Chorus*~~~
You can’t create love
No matter what you do
Intertwining souls
Is not up to you
It’s your essence clearly exposed
You can attempt to make it happen
But you won’t be even close
It will drive you mad
It will leave you torn
You can’t create love
Because love
Is born
~~*~~
You can pluck the ripened fruit of a grape vine
Age a wine that you feel sinful to drink
Graft a rose bush until it’s so exquisite
Master gardeners won’t know what to think
You can find yourself a precious emerald
The river sands may bear you platinum
Such treasures are laced with our existence
The determined can find them all but one
~~~*Lyrical Bridge*~~~
You can't find love, It must find you
Though there are props and substitutes
You hold out, for when it comes
You'll give up everything for love
It's raw truth in holy form
You can't fake love
Love is Born
~~*~~

~~~*Chorus*~~~
You can’t create love
No matter what you do
Intertwining souls
Is not up to you
It’s your essence clearly exposed
You can attempt to make it happen
But you won’t be even close
It will drive you mad
It will leave you torn
You can’t create love
Because love
Is born
TO THE END OF ME
It was just another day
I was headed home from work
So tired of feeling my body hurt
But it really didn't matter
To any one but me
 I still had two mouths to feed
I was rolling to a stop
At the end of Adams road
When a man jumped in my car
And yelled let's go
I cried, I have two children
I don't want to die
He lowered the gun
And told me just to drive
I stared straight ahead
Tears flowed as I passed home
Wondered how long my kids
Would have to be alone
Did I tell them enough
How much they mean to me
Did I help them learn to stand
On their own  two feet
Will they remember my voice
Will my face find their dreams
While I am driving to the end of me
~~~*Chorus*~~~
The end of me
My final trip
Did the words they needed
Ever pass these lips
Did these arms reach out
Hold them close enough
Did they understand
The depth of my Love
Who will be there
When the water's deep
While I'm driving
To the end of me
~~*~~

We didn't talk to each other
As I drove through the night
He said you can drop me off
When we get to the next light

My blood started racing
The car running out of gas
He jumped out at a stop sign
And never did look back

I stumbled to a payphone
And dialed the police
I can't believe I didn't drive
To the end of me

My Kids came running out
When we pulled in the drive
They were scared when I didn't
Come home last night

I pulled them close
Whispered hold me please
This is the beginning
Not the end of me

~~~*Chorus*~~~
The end of me
Was not this trip
And the words
They've needed
Will pass these lips
These arms will reach out
Hold them close enough
They will understand
The depth of my Love
I will be there
When the water's deep
Yes I'm living
To the end of me
IF THAT'S ALL YOU EVER DO
You're like a horse
Standing at the fence
That I would give an apple to
You want rewarded
Just for looking good
And that's all you ever do
~~~*1st Chorus*~~~
I have the job
I make the money
Clean the house and cook the food
You walk around
Like I'm a fixture
Unless you're in the mood
~~*~~

You're like an orchard
With a single tree
That never will produce the fruit
You think It's okay
To just give off shade
And that's all you ever do

~~~*2nd Chorus*~~~
I buy you clothes
Then do the laundry
Pay the bills and mow the lawn
You strut around
Like you are a king
And I am just your pawn
~~*~~
I've been thinking
I would like some fruit
And wild stallions should run free
If you need some time
To find a new home
You know that's okay by me
I'll feel better
Once I've turned you loose
I hope someday you will too
Just get a job
Don't be such a slob
If that's all you ever do
~~~*Finale*~~~
Found a real man
Appreciates me
Baby's me.. Oh, all night long
I hope you see
What's supposed to be
Don't miss you being gone
When they say the grass is greener
I'm here to tell you that it's true
I hope that you know
Why I let you go
If that's all you ever do

DON'T BE THE SHADE

On the day we said our vows
In front of Family and Friends
I prayed… Sweet Lord…
May this sunshine never end

So when I find you hiding
In the shade beneath your tree
I pull you back into the light
To share this world with me

~~~*Chorus*~~~
Let us live in the warming sun
With the promises we've made
You can share this light with me
But please…
Please don’t be the shade
~~*~~
Often I find you harbored
In the recess of your cave
I hold your hand and lead you
Into brilliance once again
Let’s keep chasing shadows
With the radiance of light
And leave the darkness
For the night
~~~*Lyrical Bridge*~~~
Don't be a cloud that dims
The glitter from our lives
Set the skies ablaze
With an ever-burning fire
Leave the darkness
For the nights...
Baby radiate..
Don't be the shade
~~*~~

~~~Chorus*~~~
Let us live in the warming sun
With the promises we've made
You can share this light with me
But please…
Please don’t be the shade
~~*~~
