TAKE A MINUTE

He woke up alone
No Wife, no note
Every bone in his body hurt

Found his truck on blocks
With all the tires off
He was cussing and kicking dirt

He couldn’t find a drink
She poured it down the sink
He threw the empty at the wall

He couldn’t blame her none
After what he’d done
Good Lord, he should have called

~~~*Chorus*~~~
It only takes a minute to use a phone
Tell your baby when you’re coming home
If you don’t find a way, you may end up alone
Cause it only takes a minute to use a phone
~~*~~
Couldn’t call his Mom
Since he was wrong
She would just side with his wife
He’d screwed up again
Leaving his best friend
Behind, at the bar, last night
Tried to find his boots
Guess she took those too
He went into shock, appalled
She’d turned loose the stock
And he couldn’t walk
Good Lord, he should have called
~~~*Lyrical Bridge*~~~
Six miles to the closest neighbor’s house
He tried, but his wallet, could not be found
She took his cell phone battery out
He cried like a baby, sat down to pout
He felt like he’d been born again
When he heard her truck come pulling in
Boots in hand, his tires and all
He swore, Good Lord, next time I’ll call
~~*~~

~~~*Chorus*~~~
It only takes a minute to use a phone
Tell your baby when you’re coming home
If you don’t find a way, you may end up alone
Cause it only takes a minute to use a phone
