HE'S NO GOOD
He came to ask for Daddy’s blessing
And my Daddy told him no
I walked in begging and crying
Said I love him don’t you know
He said
Baby
He’s
No
Good
He’s worse than dirt under my horses hooves
I didn’t listen to my Daddy
I ran off and married him
Found I’d jumped into a river
Too impossible to swim
Oh I came to know him like a flood
That will drown you nice and slow
You can’t get air, yield in despair
And you have no place to go
He said
Baby
He’s
No
Good
He’s worse than dirt under my horses hooves
Swallowed my pride, and called my Daddy
Cried and asked can I come home
He said baby I’ve been waiting
Every night here by the phone
Daddy didn't say “I told you so”
He just held me while I cried
He didn’t comment on the bruises
Desperation in my eyes
He said
Baby
He’s
No
Good
He’s worse than dirt under my horses hooves
It didn’t take him long to find me
Daddy said go to your room
Seems I’ve got me a trespasser
I’ll be back to check on you
I didn’t ask a single question
When my Daddy finally showed
And the fact did not escape me
That he had returned alone
He said
Baby
All
Is
Good
He’s now the dirt under my horses hooves………..
