I slid between the cotton sheets

It was a picture perfect day

And now I had time to kill

Just getting to a revelation

When I heard a noise outside

I looked out my bedroom window

Just the neighbors in another fight

Oh, but this time it was different

He had his hands around her throat

I muttered... that’s it mister

While I was putting on my robe

I came around the corner 

Yelled get your hands off her

He sneered, mind your own business

What happened next was just a blur

Told me they arrested him

Sitting on the witness stand

An impeding sense of dread

Staring at my neighbor

With a bandage on his head

The judge said tell your story
