GO AND LIVE YOUR LIFE

So many years wasted
Abused and withdrawn
Reality suspended
Innocence long gone

Continual fight inside
Hope of freedom’s gain
The undue self-hatred
No relief from shame

~~~*Chorus*~~~
Oh there will be some healing time
After all that you’ve been through
And I know there will be nightmares
That will always follow you
But you are free…
Free to run and laugh
Free…
Free, you’re never going back
You... hold… your… head… up… high
Now go and live your life
~~*~~
Oh, you were the victim
Taken and demeaned
But girl you are a warrior
Refusing to be beat
Now learn how to love yourself
Start with a clean page
You write out every grievance
Then set that list aflame
~~~*Chorus*~~~
Oh there will be some healing time
After all that you’ve been through
And I know there will be nightmares
That will always follow you
But you are free…
Free to run and laugh
Free…
Free, you’re never going back
You... hold… your… head… up… high
Now go and live your life
~~*~~

He can’t touch you physically
Don’t let him in your mind
You... hold…your…head…up…high
Now go and live your life
~~*~~

YOU'RE NOT FINE

When someone that you’ve always loved
Fades away with time
And you can’t believe they’re telling you
That precious person’s died
If you don’t have a soul to turn to
At this devastating time
Something changes, with the shock
But when asked, you say you’re fine

~~~*Chorus*~~~
Well you’re not fine
I’m telling you the truth
You can barely think
You just keep pushing through
And if it weren’t for us
You’d leave this place behind
There’s your answer
Oh you’re not fine
~~*~~
When all the habits that you’ve formed
Coincide with theirs
And you look around, everything needs done
But you don’t really care
And there’s not one thing, you do each day
That doesn’t reflect them
Then you need someone, with special love
To help you begin again
~~~*2nd Chorus*~~~
Cause you’re not fine
I’m telling you the truth
You can barely think
You just keep pushing through
And if it weren’t for us
You’d leave this place behind
There’s your answer
Oh you’re not fine
~~*~~

You feel something coming over you
Don’t know what to believe
And you scream and cry…Got tell me why
Did you take him from me
And when He doesn’t answer you
The way you think He should
You say you don’t believe in Him
But you called out, that is good

~~~*Lyrical Bridge*~~~
I have been right there with you
Doubting He could exist
Taking away someone I love
Leaving me in pain like this
But I regained my faith, shoved the lies away
And surrendered all I am
I live through hate, sickness and fate
The Bible helps me understand
Everything, around me, seems fatal sometimes
But I have God
So I am fine
~~*~~
Go and find yourself a Bible
What have you got to lose
But some anger and depression
That’s got a hold on you
Retire that pessimistic mind
Just put it away
Open up your heart,  bear your soul
And let God in today
~~~*Final Chorus*~~~
And you’ll be fine
I’m telling you the truth
You can barely think
You just keep pushing through
And if it weren’t for us
You’d leave this place behind
Please change your mind
Cause you’re not fine
~~*~~

HOLD ME

Oh would you hold me
Yes hold me just like this
And would you kiss me
With a hungry lover’s kiss
Hold me, kiss me, lets forget
Pretend they haven’t told us yet
And when I’m gone, my love you’ll know
You held a deeply happy soul
Pour all your feeling into me
Oh…
Hold me

~~~*Chorus*~~~
Don’t hold me like a Mother holds a child
I won’t break
Hold me like the pride
That you have inside
No mortal man can take
Hold me like a dam that keeps
The flowing waters back
Hold me
Hold me just like that
Oh…
This is what I need
When you hold me
~~*~~
Oh when you hold me
My mind wanders away
I think of others
Never being loved this way
Hold me, kiss me, yes I know
How blessed I’ve been that you’re my own
Before I’m gone, I want to prove
My life was great because of you
No way could I have been more pleased
Oh…
Hold me
~~~*Chorus*~~~
Don’t hold me like a Mother holds a child
I won’t break
Hold me like the pride
That you have inside
No mortal man can take
Hold me like a dam that keeps
The flowing waters back
Hold me
Hold me just like that
Oh…
This is what I need
When you hold me
~~*~~

~~~*Finale*~~~
When a girl seeks love
She can only pray
To find a man
Like you someday
There’s nothing more beautiful, serene
Than to leave this earth
Being held
In the arms of the man who loves me
Yes this is what I need
For you to hold me
~~*~~
OH DECEPTION
Oh…deception
You can’t hide yourself
Go…deceitful
Crawl back into Hell
Go burn your lying tongue
With evil’s fire
Play out the grand illusion
You’re admired
Yes…you’re cunning
Slippery like a snake
Deep down ugly
Sleazy, vile, fake
Arrogance from filth
Is hard to take
Believing you were moral
My mistake
Oh…deception
You can’t hide yourself
Go…deceitful
Crawl back into Hell
Go burn your lying tongue
With evil’s fire
Play out your grand illusion
You’re admired
Your façade at decency’s
Long ago expired
Leave… you liar
Your absence is required
Oh…deception
You can’t hide yourself
Go…deceitful
Crawl back into Hell
Go burn your lying tongue
With evil’s fire
Play out the grand illusion
You’re admired
Oh...Deception
You can't hide yourself
SIMPLE LIVES
This is Monday
I’d sure like to stay in bed
Yeah it’s Monday
Another week looming ahead
But I look at your picture
Next to me, inside the frame
And I get up because I know
You would never think this way
Awake before the sun was
Heading out with gear and gun
Each day to make a difference
In the lives of everyone
In that Country of oppression and fear...
Yeah it’s Monday
And I’m lucky to be here
~~~*Chorus*~~~
There is still freedom
In the land of the free
I ‘m not worried that I’ll die
Just because I’m being me
So many take for granted
How simple our lives can be
Yeah, it’s Monday
How lucky can I be
~~*~~

This is Thursday
Oh, the last three days were Tough
Yeah it’s Thursday
Here missing you so much

I think of conversations
That we've had over the phone
How you could always make me laugh
About some buddy or a joke

A good friend to those people
And everything to me
Reminding me they need you
Explain their plight so I'll agree

They’re a Country of suffering and tears
Yeah, it’s Thursday
And I’m lucky to be here

~~~*Chorus*~~~
There is still freedom
In the land of the free
I ‘m not worried that I’ll die
Just because I’m being me
So many take for granted
How simple our lives can be
Yeah, it’s Thursday
How lucky can I be
~~*~~
It’s your Birthday
I loved you with all my heart
Yes, your Birthday
Knew the chance right from the start
And I look at your picture
Next to me inside the frame
And I find strength because I know
You’d want more from me these days
As I’m driving out to bring you
Flowers for your resting place
I remember to be thankful
For the man before the grave
To the Country he served, gave his life...
Oh my Country
Appreciate your simple lives
~~~*Final Chorus*~~~
There is still freedom
In the land of the free
I'm not worried that I’ll die
Just because I’m being me
So many take for granted
How simple our lives can be
But our Troops
Oh, our Troops
Have no such guarantee
~~*~~

~~*Finale*~~
Stop and think when you complain
Of petty things that make you cry
Bow your head, and pray instead
Thank them for your simple lives

BRING THEM HOME

Evil is a sore
That festers to the core
Of the immoral, wretched, enemy
Repulsive to the kind
Noble, of the mind
Despicable to you and me

Evil’s born an unclean thirst
A reprobate from birth
They Poison where the decent dwell
You can’t quench that vile thirst
While they’re here upon this earth
You let the Devil take them straight to Hell

~~~*Chorus*~~~
It seems like every day
My flags not fully raised
Because another hero’s died
And I know I’m not alone
When I say please bring them home
God and Country know how hard they've tried
It’s up to you to choose
Just how many more we’ll lose
While they beat their heads against a wall
Brave men don’t give up
They go beyond "we've had enough"
They’ll fight the evil, as the righteous fall…
~~*~~
 When will our troops come home
In my eyes they all have won
Boundless victories beyond their call
By taking out the worst
Of all the filth and dirt
Now we’re losing them as powers stall
While the honorable lay cold
You  unyielding, callous souls
Are fighting over oil and guns
Yes, I want to see some tears
Hear A thank you for the years
They have beaten terror, all they've won
Prioritize your thoughts
Before all our men are lost
They can ease it, but they cannot win
Evil spreads like a disease
Brings the greatest to their knees
While they’re trying to vindicate your sins
~~~*Lyrical Bridge*~~~
Oh call them home …retreat
Let us get back on our feet
Be united like we know we’re not
Build up our boundaries
Be the cure to the disease
Honor those who fight, and those we've lost
Our Country’s full of greedy men
Who want to do her in
There’s enough to fix right here alone
So turn our soldiers loose
To conquer this abuse
The evil growing here at home
~~*~~

~~~*Chorus*~~~
It seems like every day
My flags not fully raised
Because another hero’s died
And I know I’m not alone
When I say please bring them home
God and Country know how hard they've tried
It’s up to you to choose
Just how many more we’ll lose
While they beat their heads against a wall
Brave men don’t give up
They go beyond "we've had enough"
They’ll fight the evil , as the righteous fall…
CRUCIAL FACTOR
Where did you come from
How did you get here
What’s your story child
Please define the tears
Tell me who hurt you
Do you know their name
Can you tell me who
Treated you this way
~~~*Chorus*~~~
Can’t you see I want to help you
Find some way to make things right
I am weakened by your silence
But you’re here…
Let me try
I know you’re in there somewhere
You no longer have to hide
I can be the crucial factor
Remove the ties that bind
Let me try
~~*~~

Is your family close
Do you want them here
Are you shaking now
From relief or fear

I will wait for you
Does that ease your mind
I just want to help
Oh please let me try

~~~*Chorus*~~~
Can’t you see I want to help you
Find some way to make things right
I am weakened by your silence
But you’re here…
Let me try
I know you’re in there somewhere
You no longer have to hide
I can be the crucial factor
Remove the ties that bind
Let me try
~~*~~
Why don’t you rest now
Come on, close your eyes
We’ll talk when you can
You just take your time
Yes, I will stay here
No one can get through
Sleep away some pain
I'm protecting you
~~*~~
I know you’re in there somewhere
You no longer have to hide
I can be the crucial factor
Remove the ties that bind
Let me try
~~*~~
So, you are Angel
What a fitting name
I am so sorry
Please don’t turn away
Don’t abuse yourself
You've been hurt enough
But you've made it here
Proves to me your tough
~~~* Final Chorus*~~~
Now it’s time for me to help you
Dispel monsters of the night
I am strengthened by your power
I must go…..
Make things right
You have been to hell and back
So the least that I can do
Is to be your crucial factor
Remove  what’s haunting you
~~*~~

YOU'RE THE GREATEST THING

I forgot to pay the power bill
Now I’m sitting in the dark
They towed away my car today
Didn't like the way I parked

I died my hair and turned it green
With a subtle tint of blue
A baseball came through my window
And the puppy ate my shoes

Boy do I need you….

~~~*Chorus*~~~
You turn my crisis to a comedy
Say it’s just an interlude
I’m a classic example
Of the trials we go through
And while we laugh until it hurts
You’re fixing everything
If my life is a collection
You’re the greatest thing
~~*~~
The boss said they’re downsizing
That he’ll have to let me go
I've had three potential roommates
Not a single one has showed
I left my purse in the café
Hurried back, but it was gone
No surprise the bank calls
To say I’m overdrawn
I threw my hands up in the air
And thought man what do I do
My bad luck's turning chronic
Boy do I need you…
~~~*Chorus*~~~
You turn my crisis to a comedy
You say it’s just an interlude
I’m a classic example
Of the trials we go through
And while we laugh until it hurts
You’re fixing everything
If my life is a collection
You’re the greatest thing
~~*~~

Cooking a meal to thank you
Caused a blaze inside the stove
The fire truck came and ruined
Every single thing I own

The landlord said he’s done with me
That I've made the building stink
I guess I'm not a classic
Just a bummer of a jinx

~~~*Lyrical Bridge*~~~
You said a jinx hurts other people
You just hurt yourself
And I think fate put me down here
Because you sure need my help
No it doesn't ever get to me
I like helping you with things
I’m just glad you didn't kill yourself
Before I paid off this ring
You’re the greatest thing
~~*~~
~~~*Chorus*~~~
You turn my crisis to a comedy
You say it’s just an interlude
I’m a classic example
Of the trials we go through
And while we laugh until it hurts
You’re fixing everything
If my life is a collection
You’re the greatest thing

TO MY END

If we didn't know
Another living soul
If it was just me and you

If there was no one here
To tell you lies
Who would you listen to

And in our world
Such a perfect world
Without aggression and deceit

Lover...
Lover, would you stay with me

~~~*1st Chorus*~~~
If you know me
You know everything
I've not betrayed you
Look inside your heart
You'll see
This is me talking to you
Your defender, your best friend
You should know what the truth is
That I'll love you to my end
~~*~~
If we were born
Without the sounds of life
Surrounding us each day
Could you find a form
To tell me what you want
Convey it in some way
In a quiet world
Such a silent world
With no distractions grasping you
Lover...
Lover, then what would you do
~~~*2nd Chorus*~~~
If you couldn't hear me
Not hear anything
But you could see me
Would you drink in everything
With my smile talking to you
As my body's moving in
Would you care for me to show you
That I'll love you to my end
~~*~~

Do you still crave
Your need for freedom
Desire to clutch your youth

If I'm in the way
You don't have to hurt me
Or invent some poor excuse

In a different world
Such a final world
You'd be committed holding me

Lover...
Lover, will you set me free

~~~*Finale*~~~
You create it
The conclusion of the song
The final chorus, you will write
Just don't take too long
I won't wait forever
 I won't sing this again
I'll never write another
But I'll love you to my end
~~*~~
FINALLY HOME
Yes, I'm finally home
To see how you've been
So much has changed
I saw it driving in
And my heart did break
At how they've altered you
Yes, I should have stayed
I didn't have a clue
~~~*Chorus*~~~
What kind of vandals came to my home town
Took all the pretty trees, and they cut them down
If I wanted a desert, I'd be Vegas bound
What kind of monsters ravished my home town
~~*~~

Oh, when we were kids
All my friends and me
We would seek the shade
Planning out our dreams

Pile up the cones
Or make a path with them
Imaginations reigned
And I miss back then

~~~*Chorus*~~~
What kind of vandals came to my home town
Took all the pretty trees, and they cut them down
If I wanted a desert, I'd be Vegas bound
What kind of monsters ravished my home town
~~*~~
Where's my Brother's fort
Why'd they take it too
What about the birds
We used to listen to
And the sun beats down
Drying all the grass
All the beauty's gone
That we had in the past
~~~*Lyrical Bridge*~~~
Go find yourselves a mountain
Rape the blinded side
So it's not a blemish
To the praising eyes
You stay away from here
So the trees can grow
Yes I'm finally home
You leave my town alone
~~*~~
~~~*Chorus*~~~
What kind of vandals came to my home town
Took all the pretty trees, and they cut them down
If I wanted a desert, I'd be Vegas bound
What kind of monsters ravished my home town
~~*~~
GIVEN TIME
Do you recognize the dress I’m wearing Daddy
It’s the one that you told me I should pick
I don’t know what I’m going to do without you
How could a man so wonderful get sick
The little saplings that we planted by the walkway
On the day you explained the birds and bees
Are thriving outside while you’re in here dying
Tonight I was struck by the irony
My date’s going to take me to the dance now
I wanted you to see me in this dress
You’re the greatest man that I have ever needed
And you can rest knowing that you did your best
~~~*Chorus*~~~
Daddy if you go to Heaven
Before the dance is done
Please tell my Mama thanks for loving you
That I wish I would have known her
But I've felt her by my side
And please tell God how deeply I approve
If He had to leave just one
I’m Thankful He left you
And I’ll be fine
Given time
~~*~~

Don’t you think my graduation was exciting
That’s me blowing you a kiss at the end
Yes Daddy I will join the celebration
Do you want me to rewind the tape again

Oh, the flowers you pre-ordered are just gorgeous
And this locket that I will always wear
Yes, I love the picture of you and Mama
I showed it to every graduate I swear

Well my date’s here to take me to the party
I wanted you to see me graduate
You’re the greatest man that I have ever needed
You’ll be the best to grace St. Peter's gates

~~~*Chorus*~~~
Daddy if you go to Heaven
Before the party’s done
Please tell my Mama thanks for loving you
That I wish I would have known her
But I've felt her by my side
And please tell God how deeply I approve
If He had to leave just one
I’m Thankful He left you
And I’ll be fine
Given time
~~*~~
I feel your presence here with me Mom and Daddy
That’s one of the reasons for my smile
Uncle John said he’d be more than honored
Standing in for you to walk me down the aisle
I hope you know it’s because of how you raised me
I won’t fall apart without you by my side
For all my life you've taught me to be thankful
Of the beauty blessed, and the given time
~~~*3rd Chorus*~~~
Daddy you went on to Heaven
Knowing I would be just fine
Did you tell Mama thanks for loving you
That I wish I would have known her
But I've felt her by my side
Did you tell God how deeply I approved
If He had to leave just one
I’m Thankful He left you
And I’ll be fine
Given time
~~*~~

~~*Finale*~~
Lord I can sense you all
Sharing this life of mine
Feel the beauty blessed
Thanks to the given time
~~*~~
