HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY

On the 4th of July we declared our freedom

We'd formed our United States

George the 3rd ruled the Monarchy

And the French helped hold our gates

General Washington led our soldiers

To keep enemies from its shores

With our allies by our side

Britain reigned no more

The battle for the seas was the second war

With no reason to be fighting anymore

Too late we'd opened up that door

Britain came from Canada and to our shores

So many died for Freedom's cry

But when the blood was washed away

Our second war for Independence

Sustains us to this day
